Holistic grooming cares about the entire emotional well being of your dog not just the appearance, using positive reinforcement to offer a stress free experience for your dog. This approach goes beyond the traditional grooming method often using restraints to finish the groom or to get the job done. So how do I get the job done? Simple answer is sometimes I don't get the job done. You see I dont think of grooming as a get the job done job, because grooming is needed throughout your dogs life on a monthly to two monthly basis so getting the job done is not the question, the question is how do you help my dog feel comfortable when they have their groom? I help your dog enjoy their grooming experience! This is a long term goal rather than a one session get the dog done goal. Sometimes I can send a dog home wet rather than forcing the dryer on them, or not clip their nails because of the distress the dog is presenting however in months or a years time your dog will most likely be fine with having this done only because we have come up with a plan to help your dog overcome their anxieties and fears, this not only helps them in the grooming parlour it helps them in day to day life. By working in a way that promotes relaxation and trust I can address the anxieties your dog has. Meet and greet before first session. This gives a chance for your dog to meet me build trust in me and you as the owner can have a chat and understand the way I work.
